FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Zoo is welcoming two new additions to its family.

The newest member of the giraffe herd, Lucchese, took its first steps in the Savannah Monday. The zoo held a contest to pick the name and Lucchese was the winner out of the five options. The name Lucchese is a popular Texas boot brand.

Peaches, the lesser kudu calf, was born May 5 to parents Umbrella and Martini. Peaches can be seen exploring the habitat with the rest of the kudu herd. She’s still sticking close to mom, but you can watch Peaches romping in the Savanna yard.

The Fort Worth Zoo is no longer requiring reservations. It’s open 365 days a year and half-priced admission is every Wednesday.
