A patch of dry air is situated over Texas, heading into Friday morning. Some areas will see the coolest temperatures since last March.

North Texas will see most areas in the lower 40s with central Texas in the middle 40. Deep south Texas will dip to the 50s.

Afternoons highs will warm up quickly with 70s and 80s for most of the state. Deep south Texas will see highs near 90.

Moisture returns by Friday evening and Saturday. That will bring partly cloudy, breezy conditions for Saturday afternoon.

Rain and thunderstorms are possible by Sunday afternoon, lasting until Monday morning.

A strong polar cold front is taking aim at Texas by the middle of next week. We’ll likely see the coldest weather so far this fall.
