Temperatures will continue warmer than normal today. Despite mostly cloudy skies, highs Monday will reach near 70 across North Texas with middle and upper 70s in central regions and low 80s across South Texas.

South winds will be breezy, especially in Central and South Texas with southeast winds gusting to near 30 mph. Enough moisture will be present for a few sprinkles or a passing shower.

For Christmas Eve, showers and thunderstorms are possible with a fast-moving Pacific-origin cold front. A low marginal risk of severe storms covers Waco, Austin and areas east of I-35. Some hail and gusty winds are the primary concern.

The front should pass Dallas-Fort Worth during the mid-afternoon Tuesday, Central Texas by evening and off the coast by midnight Christmas morning.

Rain chances taper off on Christmas Day, but a second, better organized upper storm will move across the state by Thursday with a chance of showers and a few thunderstorms.
