Wow, what a wet weekend!  Rain totals topped out over half a foot in a streak from NE Austin to Taylor, where at least one rain gague showed over eight inches at the heaviest in the past three days.  In the wake of that storm system, we've got a stretch of dry, hotter days ahead.  Today's forecast calls for highs in the mid 80s this afternoon.

It's worth noting that, for metro Austin, the storm total of 4.7" marks our heaviest two-day April rain event in 73 years.  No small feat!

Expect lots of sunshine out there today -- grab your shades.  And if you're planning to spend more than 15 minutes outdoors, we recommend you wear sunscreen.

In the atmosphere aloft, we see our big rainmaker moving east while a bubble of high pressure is heading this way from the west.  It'll bring a couple days of stability to the Lone Star State.

Under mostly clear skies, it'll be a cool night with temps dropping back into a range of upper 50s in town and low to mid 50s in the Hill Country.  Tomorrow looks sunny and hotter, with a high near 90.  Then Wednesday should turn out to be our hottest day of the week, with low 90s expected.

A Pacific cold front is currently timed to arrive early Thursday.  Ahead of it, southerly winds will turn downright breeze on Wednesday afternoon then, behind the front, temps will drop about 5 to 6 degrees for Thursday.  We'll be back to daytime 70s on Friday.

Looking to the weekend, another storm system is on the docket with at least a 40% chance for showers & storms on Saturday.  We think this round will move through the area fairly quickly, leaving us with clearing skies by Sunday.
