Here comes some heat!  The forecast calls for a rapid rise in temperatures and our warmest weather so far this year, with afternoon highs in the upper 80s.  Thirty-nine year old records for the date could easily tumble.  In Metro Austin (at Camp Mabry), the record to beat is 85.  At the Austin Airport, the record is only 83.

We thank the combo of abundant sunshine and very dry winds from the west-southwest for today's warmth.  In true Texas fashion, the winds of change will be blowing in from a different direction tomorrow.

We're watching for two cold fronts over the course of the next couple of days, with the first arriving very early tomorrow.  No rain is in the forecast, but we do expect the north winds to stir up more tree pollen.  Temps will be about 10 degrees cooler by comparison for the afternoon hours.

The second front is currently timed to arrive Sunday morning to midday, also without much fanfare.   As it stands now, we're calling for highs around 69-74 Sunday afternoon.

Temps will turn even cooler next week and, as a series of disturbances moves over the Lone Star State, there will likely be some rain, too, especially Tuesday and Wednesday.
