AUSTIN, Texas — On Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) temporarily halted flights arriving at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport from Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth and New Orleans.
The ground stop was lifted around 12:30 p.m.
Social media posts from the Austin airport confirmed that flights arriving from outside the affected areas operated normally, as did departing flights.
The ground stop was reportedly due to staffing issues.
The airline did not outline the fee schedule but said the new policy would start with May 28 bookings.
Employees at the Federal Aviation Administration were sent an offer to resign with eight months’ pay.
