AUSTIN, Texas — Hispanic Heritage Month is here and Texans can attend a Mexican Folkloric performance.

It’s no surprise that Texas, home to more than 11 million Hispanic people, has a robust community and authentic events lined up to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

Roy Lozano’s Ballet Folklórico de Texas is presenting Festivales de Mexico: Tributo a Jaime Guerrero. The performance will take place Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Long Center for the Performing Arts on W. Riverside Dr. in Austin.

Choreographed and produced by Jesus "Chuy" Chacon, attendees will experience the influence of Maestro Guerrero’s teachings of Mexican Folkloric dance traditions with a special appearance from the Ballet Folklórico Orgullo Mexicano.

Performances will feature festive and colorful dances from the Mexican states of Baja California Sur, Campeche, Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Tabasco, Veracruz and Yucatan.

The show starts at 7 p.m.
