TEXAS — Former President Trump was whisked off the stage after a shooting at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday night.

Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the Trump Campaign, said, “President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”

Officials later confirmed that at least one rally attendee had been killed and two others were critically injured. The suspected shooter, who the FBI early Sunday morning said was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by United States Secret Service.

Trump posted a statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, thanking the Secret Service and law enforcement for their “rapid response” and expressed his condolences to the family of the person who was killed at the rally. The former president said he was pierced in the ear by a bullet.
