COLLEGE STATION, Texas — In a long-anticipated announcement, country music legend George Strait will return to his home state to play a standalone show at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, on June 15.

The “Write This Down” singer will be joined by fellow Texans Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman for “The King at Kyle Field” one night only concert at the home of the Aggies.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 28 at 10 a.m. CT. Find tickets here. Sign up for the ticket presale here.

American Express cardholders can begin purchasing tickets on March 22 at 10 a.m. CT through March 27 at 10 p.m. CT.

The news comes after Strait announced a 2024 tour with Chris Stapleton and special guests Little Big Town, none of which were in The King's home state of Texas. Numerous fans voiced their disappointment over the lack of Texas shows on social media.

But Strait seemed to poke fun at the response. On Monday, a video was posted to his official Instagram with a collage of comments from disappointed fans that ended with a photo of Strait holding two thumbs up. The cryptic post had no caption, leading fans to speculate what it meant.

Now, it’s clear that Strait was saying “Gig ‘Em,” the official Aggie hand signal. A day later, the Kyle Field show was announced.

It’s Strait’s only Texas show in 2024.
