AUSTIN, Texas — Opendoor released its list of 2023’s “hottest” ZIP codes, and Texas was heavily featured.

The Lone Star State made up nine of the top 20 hottest neighborhoods last year with Cypress, Texas, being No. 1 on the list, up from being ranked seventh in 2022.

The Houston area was also represented by two other ZIP codes with Katy ranked at No. 2 and Park Row at 20.

The Dallas-Forth Worth Metroplex also made up three spots on the list with Forney at sixth, Aubrey at seventh and Fort Worth at 10th.

Central Texas also got some love with New Braunfels and San Antonio coming in at the eighth and ninth spots, respectively, and the Austin-area city of Leander was ranked at 13th.

This list is made up of the top 20 areas where people bought homes the fastest in 2023, according to Opendoor. The real estate company says it analyzed data from the Multiple Listing Services, and ZIP codes were ranked by total homes that went into contract within 90 days of them being listed.

"Homes purchased in our top neighborhoods reflect the desire of homeowners to head to towns with convenient amenities instead of the congestion of bigger cities,” the Opendoor website said. “This is in keeping with  2022’s list, when buyers sought a tight-knit community and plenty of activities.”
