AUSTIN, Texas — As the Grammy Awards ceremony quickly approaches in the upcoming new year, it is worth noting that a native Texan will be present at the ceremony.

Debra Davis, an Austin producer, alongside other directors and producers, helped produce “Live From Paris, The Big Steppers Tour” for Kendrick Lamar.

The category that the producer is nominated for is called Best Music Film, which became a category in 2019.

To be eligible for this category, concert/performance films or music documentaries must have their first theatrical release or be made available for sale to the public or first appear on television or online during the current eligibility year.

Excluded from consideration are dramatic feature films and biopics.

“The Big Stepper Tour” was captured on film at Accor Arena in Paris during October 2022. To support his critically acclaimed album, “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers,” Kendrick Lamar, is embarking on his fifth concert tour.

Mr. Morale, the album character played by Lamar, is challenged to break out of his comfort zone through therapy in the movie.

Helen Mirren, Whitney Alford and Kodak Black all lend their voices as narrators in the film.

Voting members of the Recording Academy can now participate in the final round of voting until Jan. 4.

Be sure to keep an eye out for Debra Davis at the ceremony on Feb. 4.
