Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has shot to fame this year, largely due to Taylor Swift. Now, he may reach new heights. Think “Pigskin in Space.”
On the Nov. 15 edition of “New Heights,” the podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce said the podcast received an email from SpaceX representative asking him if the private company could “discuss spaceflight with Travis, or his team.”
While Travis Kelce sounds all in for a trip to space, his brother is not so sure about it.
"Are you really going to do this?" Jason asked Travis.
“Why wouldn't I do this?" Travis responded. "Dude, I want to go to space. I want to see once and for all whether the world is flat or round."
Joking aside, if he were to do it in the next few years, Travis Kelce would be the first active NFL player to make such a trip. Whether the Chiefs would allow him to do it is another matter.
Back in 2021, former football star and TV celebrity Michael Strahan caught a ride to space with Jeff Bezos’ rocket-launching company, Blue Origin.
Incidentally, the Kelce brothers will face off against each other Nov. 20 in a Super Bowl rematch on "Monday Night Football."
