TEXAS — In honor of Veterans Day, veterans throughout Texas can access free legal counseling this week.

Texas Veterans Legal Aid Week is a statewide effort organized by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation and legal aid programs.

From now until Nov. 11, legal aid programs, bar associations, law schools and pro bono private attorneys are providing civil legal services for qualified veterans throughout the state.

Last year, more than 6,3000 Texas veterans received free legal services.

A list of virtual and in-person clinics can be found here. Veterans can also receive assistance and referrals by calling a statewide hotline at 1-800-622-2520.

Outside of Texas Veterans Legal Aid Week, the same services are available year-round.
