AUSTIN, Texas — The San Antonio Spurs have invited fans out for a game of pickleball in celebration of the upcoming 2023-24 season. The inaugural Austin event is scheduled for Oct. 24 at Millbrook Pickleball Club, with tickets at a price of $10 each.
“All proceeds raised will support Spurs Give’s ‘Play ATX’ initiative to fund court and park renovations across Austin, in partnership with Austin Parks Foundation,” according to a press release.
Don’t have a paddle to play pickleball? You can buy Spurs branded paddles at the event.
Attendees will have an option of two courts for pickleball.
Matches will run as explained by the Spurs, “There will be one beginner court rotating all four players after each game, and one intermediate court that will operate with challenge play, where winning pairs will split to join two new partners in following rounds.”
Many more activities will be open to fans other than pickleball, such as music from DJ DMoney, giveaways, food for purchase, etc. With the giveaways, you could win Spurs merchandise, a custom Spurs jersey, a pair of tickets to a Spurs game and tickets to an upcoming Major League Pickleball Dallas event.

- Must be 18 and older to participate
- Pets will not be allowed
- Players are encouraged to bring their own paddles
- Music by DJ DMoney, free soft drinks, merchandise giveaways, games, food for purchase and more
- All attendees will be entered into the giveaways by purchasing a ticket, but attendance at the ticket drawing is required to be selected as a winner
- Free street parking is available but limited. Ride share is encouraged
