TEXAS — Some schools have already opened their doors for the return of students; however, others are starting as late as Aug. 17. Either way, no one wants to miss out on upcoming deals on school supplies that could be used for this year or next.

The tax-free holiday starts this weekend, so plenty of savings are possible as you begin school shopping. But there are lots of events around Texas that are just giving away supplies for free. And who doesn’t like freebies?

Parents can visit these events with their children to snag some giveaway items, and maybe even get a free haircut. Please be sure to read the requirements as some events need your child present in order to participate.
