Charlotte Scott is a reporter in the Spectrum News Washington, D.C., bureau covering regional and national politics with a focus on Wisconsin.
Charlotte was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She then headed to California where she graduated from the University of Southern California in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and a minor in film. In college, she interned at Spectrum News 1 SoCal, where she returned after graduation to work as a news assistant for "InFocus California" and "Inside the Issues with Alex Cohen."
Toward the end of 2020, Charlotte transferred to the Austin newsroom to pursue her dream of being a reporter. For a year and a half, she worked overnights as an associate producer on "Your Morning" and trained to be a reporter in the afternoons. She was promoted to a political reporter role in May 2022, covering the Texas Capitol for Spectrum News 1 Texas' nightly political show, "Capital Tonight."
During her time in Austin, she covered the aftermath of the tornadoes that tore through Round Rock in early 2022, the tragic school shooting in Uvalde just two months later, and the impeachment trial of Attorney General Ken Paxton.
In her free time, Charlotte enjoys exploring the outdoors, cooking and trying new restaurants, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. You can find her on Instagram @scottcharlotte, and on Twitter and Facebook @reportsbychar.
