ORLANDO, Fla. — MegaCon Orlando has returned for four days of celebrities, cosplay, panels and more.
The event, running Thursday through Sunday, is expected to draw tens of thousands of fans to the Orange County Convention Center.
MegaCon festivities will officially kickoff at 4 p.m. Thursday.
If you’re planning to go, here are a few things to know.
Tickets
Four-day passes, as well as premium packages and VIP packages, are sold out. However, single-day tickets are still available
Prices vary depending on the day you attend. Tickets cost $27 for Thursday, $47 for Friday, $62 for Saturday and $52 for Sunday.
Special panels such as the reunion featuring the actors from “The Lord of the Rings” films require a separately priced ticket.
Celebrity Guests
MegaCon will feature a lineup of famous faces and voices throughout the weekend. Celebrities that will be in attendance include Brendan Fraser, Nathan Fillion, LeVar Burton, Brent Spiner, Ashley Eckstein and Lorraine Bracco.
Fans will also have a chance to meet “Cobra Kai” stars Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Martin Kove, Mary Mouser and Tanner Buchanan.
Other celebrities set to appear include voice actors Paige O’Hara, Billy West, Kevin Conroy and Dana Snyder.
Panels and Special Events
MegaCon will also feature panels, hands-on workshops and tons of programming for different fandoms. Attendees need to check the daily schedule for a list of the offerings.
There will also be special events such as the “Lord of the Rings” reunion with Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan.
MegaCon will also host a memorial service for comic book artist George Perez at 6 p.m. May 22. The service will be open to all.
Shopping
In addition to panels and celebrity guests, MegaCon will give fans plenty of opportunities to shop. The convention will have more than 400,000 square feet of space dedicated to exhibitors and retailers.
Parking
Parking is available for a fee at the Orange County Convention Center in the North/South parking lot. There will be additional parking available at the West parking lot when the North/South lot is full.
Health and Safety Measures
For this year’s MegaCon, masks are not required, but organizers are asking that unvaccinated attendees over 2 years old wear a mask. They are also encouraging people to wash their hands often, keep their distance where possible and to stay home if they feel unwell.
