DALLAS — Two people are dead and at least three others injured following a shooting early Friday morning in the Deep Ellum entertainment district, Dallas police said.

Police responded to the shooting shortly after 2 a.m. It took place near the intersection of Elm and North Crowdus streets.

Police initially told Spectrum News 1 that five people were shot, two of whom died. All of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital.

No information concerning a suspect or suspects was immediately available, and police have not released details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
