DALLAS — The Garland Police Department arrested a man in connection to the fatal shooting of three teenagers at a Garland, Texas, convenience store.

Richard Acosta Jr., 33, was arrested Monday after turning himself in to Garland police. He is currently in the Garland Detention Center and is charged with capital murder – multiple persons. His bond is set at $1 million. 

According to Garland police, he's accused of driving a Dodge Ram and arriving at the scene with the shooter, and was seen fleeing with the shooter inside the vehicle. The truck has been located. 

Police took a 14-year-old boy into custody on Monday. Detectives said he has intimate knowledge of the shooting, and he is cooperating with the investigation. Based on new information in the investigation, the 14-year-old is not being charged at this time, and has been released to his family. 

Three teenagers were killed and another was injured during the shooting. All victims shot are Hispanic males. Garland police identified the deceased as 14-year-old Xavier Gonazalez, 16-year-old Ivan Noyala and 17-year-old Rafael Garcia.  

The 15-year-old that was transported to the hospital is in stable condition. His identity is not being released. 

The Garland Police Department said the shooting appears to be in retaliation from a previous disturbance, and was believed to be a targeted attack on one or more of the persons inside the store.  

Members of the Garland Police Department are actively pursuing leads and have executed several search warrants throughout the night.
