DALLAS — Texas this week is receiving an additional 2.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, but there’s not always enough people on hand to help get those vaccines into arms.

One of the largest vaccination sites in the Dallas area is the historic Fair Park, and Dallas County is in need of volunteers to help administer vaccines.

Those interested in volunteering may sign up here. There are multiple shifts available. On alternating days, Fair Park makes the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines available.

If you are 60 years old or older you don’t even need to make an appointment in order to get a shot.

There is mounting evidence that vaccination efforts in Texas are working.

The Texas Department of State Health Services on Monday reported fewer than 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the state.
