TEXAS — A big winter storm is headed to Texas this weekend. Our meteorologists say it will be best to avoid going outside if you can.

“If you do have to go outdoors, make sure to layer up. Hats, scarves, gloves, you name it,” said Spectrum News 1 meteorologist Brooke Brighton.

Our pets will also be just as cold as we are.

“Your pets probably don’t want to spend too much time outdoors when it’s this cold. So let them do their business really quick. If you have a sweater or jacket for them, put that on,”
