Bria Bell joined Spectrum News in September, 2020.
This Texas native graduated with her Masters of Liberal Arts from Texas Christian University while balancing an on-air job, and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. Before that, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, where she was a part of the women’s basketball team.
Bell’s most powerful moment as a journalist was being on the streets to cover George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests. The movement caused a shift in society as more people are now focused on criminal justice reform and more knowledgeable about historical events that are heavily connected to racial disparities that exist today. She was proud to cover it.
When she's not chasing down stories, you can catch her working out in someone's HIIT class (probably kickboxing), searching for her next weekend adventure.
Being born into the Dallas Cowboys fandom is definitely the most “Texas” thing that has ever happened to her.
