SAN ANTONIO — The Magnolia Hotel in Seguin, is said to be one of the most Haunted places in Texas.

The property was initially a two room log cabin built in 1840 by James Campbell who was a co-founder of Seguin and a Texas Ranger. The hotel was built in 1847 next to the cabin.

The Magnolia Hotel is allegedly the home of 13 ghosts including one of a little girl. Legend has it the little girl was murdered by someone who stayed the night in the hotel the day of her death.

Erin and Jim Ghedi are the 13th owners of the hotel. They purchased the property in 2013 from the previous owners who told them the place is not haunted. Soon after the couple signed the papers and went back to the hotel to celebrate, Erin and Jim discovered they were not alone.

“All three doors went boom, boom, boom, and a cold breeze went between us,” Erin Ghedi said.

Erin and Jim chose to restore half of the hotel. It now includes a five room bed and breakfast suite for guests. They also have access to the other side of the hotel which is unrestored, but has no electricity. It’s said to be the most active side of the hotel.

The hotel has been featured on several paranormal shows and movies. Our Mike Garcia was invited to spend the night in the bed and breakfast, with total access to the unrestored side. He tells us about his experiences in The Haunted Magnolia Hotel.
