Adolfo Muniz joined Spectrum News 1 in October 2020.

Muniz considers journalism his calling in life and is honored to be able to shed light on important issues.

His most meaningful story was the separation of families as a result of the “zero tolerance” immigration policy of the federal administration in 2018 here at the border in the Rio Grande Valley. He saw children being sent away, loaded in buses from a detention facility, separated from their migrant parents, mothers crying asking for their children, and children being taken away from their parents. That marked him forever as a human being and as a journalist, and reinforced for him the need for doing our job with integrity.

Muniz is fluent in five languages and has such a love for philosophy that he chose it as his major…along with journalism.
