AUSTIN, Texas — Rep. Roger Williams, R-Austin, is once again trying to fend off a challenge from Democrat Julie Oliver in the race for Texas’ 25th congressional district which stretches from Austin, to just south of Fort Worth.

Williams beat Oliver in 2018 by nearly 9 points. He’s seeking his fifth term.

Capital Tonight’s Karina Kling spoke with Williams about his reelection bid, the battle over police budgets and the federal and state response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Williams’ interview is part of a series of candidate conversations Capital Tonight is doing leading up to the November election.
