CEDAR PARK, Texas – A lucky lottery player bought the ticket that hit the Mega Millions Jackpot Tuesday night from a store in Cedar Park.
- Ticket sold at Lakeline Express Mart
- Must be claimed in 180 days
The winning ticket from Tuesday night’s $227 million Mega Millions drawing was sold from the Lakeline Express Mart on North Lakeline Boulevard.
According to the Texas Lottery Commission, the winning numbers were 6, 14, 24, 42, 46 and the Mega Ball number was 9.
Store manager Bidhan Budathoki made the discovery Wednesday morning when the Texas Lottery sent his store a notification.
“‘One Mega Millions Jackpot ticket sold in Cedar Park.’ That’s what I saw this morning. I went online and I found out that we sold it,” said Budathoki.
Budathoki and the folks at his store were excited for the news as well. Lottery retailers receive 1 percent of all winnings from tickets they sell from their store.
That amount is capped at $1 million, but that’s more prize money than the store has ever won. The winner of the Mega Millions Jackpot has yet to be revealed.
If the ticket is yours, here is what you need to do:
First thing is sign the ticket. If you don’t and you lose the ticket, someone else could find it and claim your prize.
Then the Texas Lottery Commission says you should call 800-375-6886 to let them know you think you won.
Next, you’ll need to head over to the Texas Lottery Commission Headquarters in Austin. Tickets sold in Texas over $2.5 million must be claimed in person and must be claimed within 180 days of the draw date.
The Texas Lottery first started in 1992 and since then, people have won more than $60 billion. The Texas Lottery Commission says it’s also generated almost $30 billion in state revenue.
