TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas -- A brush fire in South Travis County that began burning Saturday afternoon is contained but continues to smoke.
- Brush fire grew to 75 acres
- No evacuation orders issued
- STAR Flight assisted in battling blaze
The Austin Fire Department along with Travis County Fire, Westlake Fire, Star Flight and Texas Forest Service assisted the Manchaca Fire Department in battling the brush fire that grew to 75 acres at one point.
Firefighters from Emergency Services District 5 responded to Estancia and Camino Vaquero Parkway shortly after 3 p.m.
STAR Flight assisted with aerial drops.
No evacuations or injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was determined to be sparks from contractors grinding on a metal fence post.
Crews remained at the scene overnight on Saturday to monitor for flare ups.
