ROUND ROCK, Texas -- After two months away, it’s time for Carlos Correa to get back to the big leagues.

“As athletes we get hurt and we gotta focus on the rehab and get back on the field,” Correa said.

The Astros all-star shortstop has been on the disabled list since late May after cracking a rib during a massage. Correa is almost back to being healthy and expected to join the Astros on Friday.

“Just excited, I’ve been playing with these guys for 4-5 years,” Correa said. “ I love every time on the field with them.”

While he hasn’t loved being hurt, Correa did say his time rehabbing the past few days with the Round Rock Express has been enjoyable.

“Austin is a great city (where I’ve been staying) and Round Rock is one of the best ballparks there is.” Correa said.

Correa will rejoin a Houston team that has remained in first place despite his absence.
