  • Incident caught on doorbell camera

Manor police arrested 20-year-old Victor Kouchich and charged him with third-degree felony kidnapping Wednesday. He was booked into the Travis County Jail.

According to court documents, Kouchich and his girlfriend, a woman in her 20s, got into an argument. They went driving around Manor in his car, when she got out of the car abruptly, without telling him to stop.

The victim went up to a person’s house and knocked on the door. Footage from a video doorbell captured the woman and screaming, “Please! No! No! No!” when Kouchich came up to her and yelled for her to get in the car. Investigators said she was taken against her will.

“There’s multiple situations where victims, they are in fear of what’s going to happen to that person. Sometimes they depend on that person if that’s the breadwinner. Victims change their minds sometimes,” said Sgt. Lawrence Rideau, of the Manor Police Department.

The victim was later found safe.

According to arrest documents, the victim said that she did not mind that she was grabbed. However, after reviewing evidence, police determined a crime still occurred.
