AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas has added new football series with Florida, Arizona State, along with a number of other home-game opponents over the next several years, UT Vice President and Athletics Director Chris Del Conte announced on Friday.

  • Will play Florida both home and away
  • Last played Arizona State in Holiday Bowl
  • Added Michigan, Ohio State and more

Texas will travel to Gainesville to face Florida on September 7, 2030, while the SEC power will play in Austin on September 6, 2031.

Both meetings will be UT's second game of the season. The Longhorns and Gators have played just three times with the last meetings being a home-and-home series in Austin in 1939 and Gainesville in 1940. UT holds a 2-0-1 series advantage, winning the past two contests and playing to a 7-7 tie in Austin in 1924.

The Longhorns have also scheduled a week two home-and-home series with Arizona State in 2032 and 2033. Texas will travel to Tempe on September 11, 2032, and the Sun Devils will play in Austin on September 10, 2033. UT and ASU have played just once, meeting in San Diego for a Holiday Bowl game that the Longhorns won, 52-34.

Other future matchups with iconic college football programs include Alabama (2022 and 2023), Michigan (2024 and 2027), Ohio State (2025 and 2026) and Georgia (2028 and 2029).

The dates of the games versus Michigan have recently been moved to the second week of the season on September 7, 2024, in Austin, and September 11, 2027, in Ann Arbor.

Texas also added a pair of home-only series with two in-state programs from 2024-31. The Longhorns will meet UTSA and UTEP in alternating years at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium during that eight-year stretch.

Texas and UTSA have never met, and the Horns hold a 5-0 advantage in games versus UTEP, four of which were played in Austin.

The Longhorns also added a season-opening home game with Colorado State on August 31, 2024. Texas has faced CSU just once, hosting the Rams in 1975 and winning, 46-0.

To accommodate some of the scheduling changes, Texas and South Florida have agreed to cancel their scheduled games at USF in 2022 and in Austin in 2024. The Longhorns are still scheduled to play USF on September 5, 2020, in Austin.
