A storm system and cold front brought widespread heavy rain, strong storms and gusty winds to the area Wednesday, but drier air is moving in...and sticks around as we head into the weekend. If you had any storm damage in your area or neighborhood, remember you can always send photos to the email txphotos@charter.com, be sure to include a location and estimated time of the event so we could pass along the report to the National Weather Service.

There's lots of sunshine in the forecast as we end the week and start the weekend, and with dry air in place, temperatures will warm up quickly. Highs will be climbing into the 80s both Saturday and Sunday with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s, so after a comfortable start, it might feel quite hot outside and in the direct sun. A few more clouds are expected on Sunday as moisture moves back in from the Gulf of Mexico.

Monday looks mostly cloudy ahead of our next storm system, set to arrive Tuesday into Wednesday, with another round of showers and storms. The month of April has been active with a storm system moving into Texas almost every week. The positive? We'll be wrapping up the month with above average rainfall. At this time of the year, the amount of rain we pick up can help to impact the intensity of the summer heat, and it looks like a wetter than average weather pattern continues for our part of Texas as we head into the first few days of May.

Be sure to check back with us as we get ready to track the next storm system!
