KERRVILLE, Texas -- A small plane crashed Monday morning while preparing to land at Kerrville Municipal Airport, according to an FAA spokesperson.

The plane was a twin-engine Beechcraft BE58.

The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. about six miles northwest of the airport. According to preliminary information from the FAA, at least six people were onboard the aircraft. Everyone on board the plane was killed, according the Department of Public Safety. The flight had departed earlier Monday morning from West Houston Airport outside of Houston.

The Department of Public Safety is at the scene of the plane crash. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will be conducting an investigation.
