AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are investigating a suspicious death at an apartment complex in North Austin.

Officials say the death happened at 9133 Northgate Blvd. They say the call came in at around 7:35 a.m. Wednesday.

Police during a press conference Tuesday afternoon said they received a request for a welfare check at the address. Officers located Eddie Marshall with "obvious trauma." He was prounounced a the scene.

Homicide detectives are investigating the death. Police did not provide specific details concerning the trauma the victim sustained or immediately specify the cause of death. 

Investigators are in the process of interviewing witnesses.

“We are exploring all possible suspects or anyone who might be involved, which is why it’s so important that we get this information out and we have the community call if you know anything regarding this incident,” said Officer Destiny Silva of the Austin Police Department. “As far as a threat to the public regarding this incident, anytime that we have a violent crime we want to remind the community to remain vigilant and be aware of your surroundings.”
