Texans brought their best swine to compete for the title of the most beautiful and handsome pig in the Lone Star State.
The first ever pig pageant was hosted by the Central Texas Pig Rescue in Austin on Sunday.
Owning a pig is more work than most people realize, according to the wranglers of the contestants. The event aimed to clear up some common misconceptions about pig ownership.
The rescue used the pageant to raise money for Amplify Austin. The goal is to raise $20,000 to build a medical trailer to provide care for the pigs.
