FREDERICKSBURG, Texas – One person has died after a single-engine plane crash in Fredericksburg Thursday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to Sgt. Orlando Moreno, a call about the crash came in around 5 p.m. The plane crashed and then caught on fire near in the intersection of Bernhard Road and Kerr Road.

The body has been taken to a local funeral home and investigators are working to identify the body.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating along with the National Transportation Board. It is unclear where the plane took off from and where it was headed at the time of the crash. 

The plane was a Beechcraft Bonanza.
