AUSTIN, Texas – The Lower Colorado River Authority has extended its lowering of lakes LBJ, and Marble Falls by five days.
- LCRA extending lake lowering
- Will be lowered until January 12
- Will be refilled on February 24
The extension will allow residents more time to recover from October 2018’s historic flooding. The flooding of the Highland Lakes left water-front properties damaged or completely destroyed.
Property owners will need permits before cleaning areas under their docks. LCRA lake wide permits will allow owners to remove debris and dredge mud from under their docks. LCRA permits are not required for dock repairs.
Lake LBJ will be lowered by four feet, while Lake Marble Falls will be lowered by seven feet. The drawdown began on December 30, and will last until Monday, January 12.
The lake will be refilled on Sunday, February 24, and end on Thursday, February 28.
