AUSTIN, Texas – The former owner of a 3D-printed gun company, Cody Wilson, was indicted on multiple charges related to the sexual assault of a child.

• Cody Wilson indicted on a total of 8 charges
• The charges stem from an incident that occurred in mid-August of 2018
• Wilson is the founder of Defense Distributed

A Travis County grand jury indicted Wilson on four counts of sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecency with a child by exposure, and two counts of indecency with a child by contact.

Officials said that the charges stem from an incident that occurred in mid-August of 2018. According to a police affidavit, Wilson met the victim, who is described as "a juvenile female under the age of 17," on a website called SugarDaddyMeet.com. The victim said that she and Wilson went to the Archer Hotel. The victim said while in the room she and Wilson engaged in sexual intercourse and then said Wilson paid her $500.

Wilson then fled to Taiwan, where he was arrested in September of 2018. Not too long afterward, 3D-printed gun company Defense Distributed cut its ties with Wilson, who was the founder of the company.
