SAN ANTONIO — The life of Tejano legend Selena Quintanilla is coming to Netflix.

The streaming serviced announced Tuesday it has ordered a scripted show called Selena: The Series, based on the late singer’s life.
Netflix said the Quintanilla family has been fully involved and will serve as executive producers.
"Selena will always have a lasting place in music history and we feel great responsibility to do justice to her memory. With this series, viewers will finally get the full history of Selena, our family, and the impact she has had on all of our lives. We are excited to partner with Campanario and Netflix to give fans a never-before-seen glimpse at our story and highlight why Selena will remain a legend for generations to come." Suzette Quintanilla, sister of Selena Quintanilla said.
A date for the series has not been released.
Selena Quintanilla was a Grammy-award winning Tejano singer from Texas who was murdered in 1995.
In 1997, a movie based on her life and starring Jennifer Lopez was released.
