AUSTIN, Texas — If there’s one thing Austin loves, it’s tacos.
- Vegan Taco Tour of Austin starts Oct. 1.

- Participants have a chance to win one of 12 grand prizes
ATX Vegans is launching its Vegan Taco Tour of Austin. The tour features 12 local businesses, a total of 18 restaurants and prizes from its sponsor, Yellowbird Sauce, as well as grand prizes from each participating restaurant.
Starting Oct. 1 until Oct. 31, participants can pick up a free tour guide postcard at any participating restaurants and get a stamp for each restaurant they visit. Participants who complete the tour will turn in their Tour Guides to the final restaurant and will be entered to win one of 12 grand prizes at the end of the tour. The local nonprofit expects more than 10,000 people to participate.
“The Austin community has made it clear that tacos are an important staple in our local diet,” Britty Hamby, executive director of ATX Vegans, said. “By making something fun and exciting like the Vegan Taco Tour, we hope to bring everyone together over shared love of food and support local businesses who are willing to branch out and create delicious vegan food.”
