TEXAS – Many Texans are saying “What-a-candidate” after U.S. Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke rolled up to a Whataburger for a pit stop.
O’Rourke is rolling through all 254 counties in Texas in his race to unseat Sen. Ted Cruz this November.
Between hosting town halls, the Texas native skated through the Whataburger parking lot to grab a burger. The skateboard was given to O’Rourke at a campaign event.
O’Rourke sat down with local diners to share some fries and some laughs.
According to the Texas Monthly, Cruz was quoted as describing O’Rourke as “a triple meat Whataburger liberal who is out of touch with Texas values.”
