AUSTIN, Texas -- Austin-Travis County EMS will make its television debut on A&E Thursday night.
The show "Nightwatch" follows first responders and is returning for its fourth season, this time highlighting EMS departments from Texas, New York, Arizona and Louisiana.
For the first time ever, the show will be going behind the scenes in the 911 call room, highlighting the work of the communication medics.
"We have our special operations rescue team, we have our special event staff that manage the motorcycles, the SRU's, we have our academy staff, we have our PIO section. There's a number of things that ATCEMS does operationally that you don't see anywhere else in the country so that's one of the many things that makes us unique,” said Mike Benavides, ATCEMS PIO.
The department will be highlighted tomorrow and next Thursday on a short series called "Nightwatch presents: First Responders." After that, it will be a regular part of the "Nightwatch Nation" season.
