AUSTIN, Texas -- The stories of black soldiers have inspired an art show.

Two local veterans will be making the trip to show their art. Vietnam Veteran Glenn Towery will be featured in the Military Inspired Art Show this weekend.

His work showcases black military organizations and soldiers throughout history. Towery said art is therapeutic for him, especially when he struggles with his PTSD.

"Whatever it is that you love to do practice it, cause that is more healing than most medicines that you can take. So me, I'm a painter, and every time i paint something I feel better,” he said.

Also featured in the Military Inspired Art Show will be Christopher Van Loan, curator of last year's Veterans Art Show.
