TAYLOR, Texas — A man was dropped off at a hospital in Taylor with a gunshot wound to his chest on Monday evening.
On June 11, at 9:05 p.m., Taylor Police said they responded to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Taylor on report of a man who had a gunshot wound. Hospital personnel advised that a male subject came into the hospital’s intake area at approximately 9 p.m., and stated there was a man outside with a gunshot wound. The man went back outside and left the area in a vehicle.
Hospital staff went outside and nurses brought in the victim with the gunshot wound. The victim suffered a bullet wound to the upper chest and arm. Due to the severity of the trauma, the victim was transferred to Seton Williamson County Hospital where he was admitted and is now in stable condition. The victim is identified as Juan Palacio, 31, of Taylor.
Officers found the vehicle where the victim was shot in the northeast portion of the parking lot of Baylor Scott and White in Taylor. The vehicle was processed by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit.
Officers have reason to believe that the shooting occurred in Taylor. Anyone with information is asked to contact Taylor Police Detective Vincent Clifford at 512-352-5551. The investigation will continue.
