SAN ANTONIO -- The direct descendants of Davy Crockett reunited in San Antonio to remember the Alamo's famed defender.
Over the weekend, family members gathered at the city's Crockett Hotel for the annual reunion.
Crockett is famously known for taking part in the Texas Revolution. His death came shortly after he was killed during the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. Every other year, the family reunites in the Alamo city to honor his memory.
"I'm the fifth great-grandson of Davy Crockett and we are having a family reunion here at the Alamo this weekend and we are excited to be in Texas,” said Chris Daigle, a descendent of Davy Crockett.
This reunion comes after the city revealed renderings of the Alamo Plaza.
