AUSTIN, Texas — The 75-year-old Austin bombing victim’s family shared an update on her condition Tuesday.

Esperanza “Hope” Herrera, third victim of the package explosions linked to the Austin bomber, is still in the hospital, her family updated on her GoFundMe account.

Her grandson, Joshua Herrera, who organized the fundraising account said Herrera has undergone as many as 12-14 surgeries since the explosion, is wheelchair-bound and requires wound treatments to maintain.

“The road to recovery continues to be a long and hard one, but Hope still feels blessed just to be alive,” he wrote on the web page.

Joshua said Wednesday’s update on her condition would likely be one of the last. Set with a goal of raising $85,000 — The account has raised over $110,000.

GoFundMe accounts have been set up to raise money for all of the victims and their families.

Two were killed and four injured in the series of package bomb attacks in early March.
