SANTA FE, Texas – Gov. Greg Abbott and his wife were joined by the Lieutenant Governor and local lawmakers Sunday in front of Santa Fe High School.

Each of them said a prayer and laid a bouquet beneath the high school's marquee.

Afterward, Gov. Abbott said his heart aches for the entire Santa Fe community and he promised to find ways to end gun violence.

"We will build a pathway to reforms, so that other students will not have to live through a nightmare like what these students had to go through,” said Gov. Abbott.

Gov. Abbott plans to convene a group of survivors from Santa Fe, Sutherland Springs and other recent Texas tragedies to develop recommendations to address gun violence.
