NATIONWIDE -- Wishing to “celebrate and draw inspiration from people who are often overlooked in the typical design process,” Microsoft has unveiled The Xbox Adaptive Controller.
Microsoft said gamers with limited mobility have found challenges finding controller solutions to fit their needs. The company said the new device was designed to address those challenges and remove barriers to gaming.
In addition to the adaptive switchers that gamers with limited mobility may already have, The Xbox Adaptive Controller features two large buttons built in. The buttons can be reprogrammed to act as any of the controller’s button inputs via the Xbox Accessories app, Microsoft said in a release.
The device also supports external inputs that can be plugged into the new controller. Inputs include PDP’s One-Handed Joystick for the Xbox Adaptive Controller, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick and Quadstrick’s Game Controller.
The Xbox Adaptive Controller retails for $99.99 and is exclusively available through the Microsoft Store.
