AUSTIN, Texas – A couple celebrated their one year wedding anniversary in the most Texas way possible with a little help from Whataburger.

Lauren Hodges was married one year ago ending the night with a sweet treat for her guests who worked up on appetite on the dance floor. A Whataburger employee delivered honey butter chicken biscuits for the 300 wedding guests making smiles and happy stomachs while celebrating the nuptials.

Hodges said for the next year, all of her guests can only talk about the late-night snack.

“From that point on, our guests could have cared less about the open bar or the band,” said Hodges. “This is what everyone loved. This is what everyone still talks about!”

When it came time for the couple to rejoice after one year of marriage, they knew there was only way to celebrate. 

Whataburger helped the couple plan an anniversary celebration “just like [they] like it.” A booth was adorned with fresh flowers, balloons, a sequined table cloth and of course honey butter chicken biscuits. 

Like many Texans, the fast-food chain brings back nostalgic memories, said Hodges who recalls stopping at the restaurant on every family trip. 

When the photo shoot was over Hodges bagged up the extra food.

“I shared them with co-workers later,” said Hodges. “We do not waste Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits!”
