CEDAR PARK, Texas -- The City of Cedar Park on Monday installed an emergency red signal in front of Fire Department Station Number Two.

The station is located at 1570 Cypress Hill Road, just southwest of S. Lakeline Boulevard.

The signal will activate any time a fire apparatus and/or ambulance leaves the station. In recent years traffic has increased along Cypress Hill Road, making it difficult for arriving and departing emergency vehicles.

“The new signal will greatly enhance the safety of firefighters and the community, providing a safer exit and entrance into Fire Station Two,” Cedar Park Fire Chief James Mallinger said.

The signal was a Fiscal Year 2018 Capital Improvement Project with a $90,000 construction budget.
