AUSTIN, Texas — A gas line break led to the evacuation of several downtown buildings as well as street closures on Wednesday morning.
Fire crews responded to the scene at 408 W. 11th St. just after 10:40 a.m.
They were able to clamp the burst and gas levels are being checked around the evacuated areas.
Officials confirmed a 2-inch gas line was broken after contractors hit a line. More than 250 people were evacuated from the area.
By noon, all evacuated buildings and streets were reopened. No injuries were reported.
