AUSTIN, Texas – A fire overnight on Wednesday is being assessed after flames ignited on the roof of Welch Hall at the University of Texas at Austin.
Around midnight, firefighters were called to the academic building on the 105 block of East 24th Street for reports of a roof fire.
The roof of Welch Hall is currently under construction, which crews believe accidentally caused the fire.
The fire was extinguished and the damage was confined to the roof. No one was injured.
